Geysers in Iceland
Geysers are a fairly rare phenomenon. Due to particular conditions, Geysers exist in only a few places on Earth. Roughly half of the total can be found in Yellowstone National Park, United States. The name geyser comes from The Great Geysir in Iceland. Most of the Icelandic geysers are located in Haukadalur. Here you can see every few minutes an eruption.

Geyser Eruption
Geyser activity is caused by surface water gradually seeping down through the ground until it meets rock heated by magma. The heated water then rises back toward the surface where you have the effect of hot water and steam spraying out of the surface vent. Eventually the water remaining in the geyser cools back to below the boiling point and the eruption ends; heated groundwater begins seeping back into the reservoir, and the whole cycle begins again. The duration of eruptions and time between successive eruptions vary greatly from geyser to geyser
